A rare opportunity to learnt a millennia-old folkart here on campus, in just 4 workshops.
Palestinian tatreez is a traditional folkart that uses embroidery to express contextual stories, using motifs and colours taken from the motherland, about the motherland.
If you've ever wanted to learn the art, we're bringing them right here for you at Curtin University, led by Palestinian tatreez expert, Abeer who led our amazing 2021 classes. Perfect for those with zero, beginner or intermediate level skills!
Refreshments are included with each tatreez class, so make sure to include any dietary requirements (other than halal)!
Every attendee will be given a tatreez pack to kick off their tatreez journey, with complete guidance in a small group to foster as much learning as possible.
A portion of profits will go towards PARA (Palestine Australia Relief and Action) to support Palestinian refugees from Gaza.
Workshops will be on campus (location emailed), and take place over a duration of 4 weeks:
...11-1pm every week.
What are you waiting for? Sign up CPS Fam! You don't have to be Palestinian to practice tatreez, but must come in with a commitment to honouring the Palestinian identity and culture tatreez holds.
Don't hesitate to reach out at curtinpalestiniansociety@gmail.com for any questions at all.
